Trimming The Tree

We love to celebrate Christmas and we start the season by trimming the tree Thanksgiving weekend.
Dad always starts out by putting the tree up and stringing the lights.

Then Dalton, Madison and Mom put up the garland, beads and ornaments. Dad helps with ornaments too!

Madison was a Fire Fairy and not really sure what Dalton was, but he could squeeze the pump in his hand and blood would flow thru the face mask.

Carving Pumpkins

Madison's is on the left and Dalton's the right. They carved the pumpkins themselves. There was a bigger candle in Dalton's which made it look brighter.

State Celebration

At school, Madison had to choose a state to represent for the State Celebration. She chose Wisconsin because the capital is Madison. They had to dress up like someone or something that would represent the state. Mom and Dad thought she should be a Cheese Head, but she chose Laura Ingalls Wilder (author of the Little House books). Betty made the outfit. Didn't she do a wonderful job?!

Ohio State Fair - Aug 2006

We went to the Fair this summer because Madison won the State Fair award at the Madison County Fair for her "Adventures in Home Living" 4-H project. We had a good time after her judging. The kids got to go on some rides and we got some "fair" food. Then mom got sick and we had to go home, but at least we went to the Ohio State Fair.

First Day of School - Aug 2006

Madison starts 5th grade this year and she has to get up an hour earlier to catch the bus at 7:00am.

Dalton starts 3rd grade this year.
